In my opinion, I prefer to be with a crowd than to be alone. I do experience occasionally being alone and I felt so bored until I have to call up my friends to cheer me up. So I prefer being with a group of friends. Having friends around make me feel good and happy. In the next few paragraphs I will share with you why I like to be in the company of people.
Firstly, when it comes to schoolwork or project, teamwork is required. In a crowd more ideas are generated when we brainstorm one another. We can challenge each other’s creativity as we contribute our thoughts. We can help one another by sharing resources and ideas. As the saying goes, ‘Strength is unity’ and ‘one tree cannot build a forest’. If my friends and I work together, we can pull through our project or work faster as we discipline one another.
In most sports, teamwork is also required. You can’t be possibly playing soccer with only 2 people. This way a group is needed. Although I said that I prefer playing with a group of people, I do not mean that I will play with total strangers. What fun can you get from playing with a group of strangers? I would rather play with my friends. But if it is my friends and I playing against a group of strangers, I will not mind. Who know we may make new friends while at the same time build a stronger bond with old friends.
Being with a group of friends can be so much fun than being alone. Imagine all the crazy stuff we can do together or talk about when in a group. For instance when we remincense the good old days in primary school and catching up with one another, all this sure bring back memory.
Secondly, being in a group help me to open up to my friends. For example if I have family problems I may find it easier to tell them to my peers than to the councilors as they are strangers to me. Wouldn’t it be better to tell it to your friends than to keep it to yourself? If you were to tell it to your friends, they might be able to share your burden. This way you will feel much better.
People need to spend quiet moments by themselves. So do I. I too need quiet time to sort thing out like doing my homework or personal stuff. But when it comes to happy moments I still feel that I am happiest when with a crowd. So in conclusion I felt that I am most happy with a crowd than when I am alone.

What I my favourite food? Well actually I like (almost)all kinds of food, let me tell you about my top 3 dishes.
Starting from the 3rd is wanton mee! It is located at West coast market, it is the only wanton mee stall in the front row facing the road, business start at 6pm until after midnight. Although it is located at in a market place, the food is really good especially the wanton, it just simply melts in your mouth and the noodle goes nicely with the char siew. Another stall is located at Rochor centre hawker centre it serve really good wanton mee as well. It has chicken shreds, mushroom, char siew, wanton and noodle. I think that is the best wanton mee I have ever tasted but I can’t describe the taste with just mere words. It best to just try it yourself!
My next favourite food is yong tau foo! It is located at Outram hawker centre. The soup is tasty and it comes with ikan bilis, the combination may sound weird but it is actually really good! I recommend you to order with bee hoon as it goes well with the food. The ingredients are hand-made and cook in their special soup. Another stall is located at People’s Park. Even if I don’t tell you which stall is it, especially at the weekend you will sure to find it right away as it queue stretch until half of the hawker centre! Although it does not have a weird combination like the one I mention above, what makes it truly delicious is it soup! Their ingredients are hand-made as well and you can order it with beehoon, A must try.
Finally favourite of all favourites food is surprisingly Indian food! Recently I started a liking in Indian food because I like spicy food. So to all spicy food lover out there I recommend the restaurant Banana Leaf, located at Little Indian by the way the restaurant really lives up to its name as the food (not all) are serve on banana leafs! I recommend ordering roven josh (I think that how they spell it haha), butter chicken, masala chicken and fish head curry. All this dishes combine with sweet Lassi drink is enough to make a family full!

Dear Mdm Jean Tan,
Hi Mdm Jean Tan, I’m Samuel, it has been quite awhile since we last saw each other. How are you doing this days? It always been my pleasure to write to you and I am sure you want to know what changes kent Ridge had undergo since when it re-opened this year 2008.
A lot of things had changed since you left. For starters, our ex-principle ms chamb had transferred to another school and now a new principle had come to take over. His name is mr koh chong, let me tell you something about him. He has a square face and not much hair. He has thick eyebrow. Small eyes and a round rose and big lips, his eyes is kind of big as well, making him look like an elf. He has a quite tan body and he is quite tall as well. Although he is sometimes fierce looking, he is actually a gentle giant. Now that I am in sec 4, I will be seating at the gallery. The view is great as I can see everyone moving about and another good thing is that I do not have to sit cross-legged. There is a minor change to our school uniforms is that now we do not have to wear collar-pin anymore but instead it will be replace with a iron badge. Our reporting time ihas been change as well, on Thursday we can report much later.
One of the most major change is that this is out O ‘lvl’ year and all of my classmate are already feeling the pressure and stress. Our teacher are discussing how to ‘torture’ us with homework and they also mention that they would not be as lenient as last year.there are many jhomework to be dne and very little or no time to play anymore. The teacher also tell us that we must be very serious this year as this is one of the most important year in our lifetime. In order to help us to improve our work, we now have to stay back after school almost everyday for structure lessons.
This year, our school have organized a CIP day. My group are suppose to go to the elderly homes to clean their house. I think that this is very meaningful as many of our classmates are disrespectful to many of our older teacher. When my group reach our assignated house, the old man was already waiting for us outside his house. When I step into his house, I was surprised that it is very clean and in good condition. Even though the old man was in his 80s, he look as it he is in his 60s. the old man told us that there is no need to mop the floor so we clean the kitchen area. Although we encounted some difficult, we try our best in what ever we do. Before we left, we pass the food hamper, he was as happy as a lark. His smile had etched into my heart.
One of the last few changed is the responsibility in my CCA. I hope you still remember that I am in the Boys’ Brigade. Now that I am in Sec 4, a lot of responsibility has been push down to me as I am the admin but it would be only be a matter of time before the Sec 3 take over.

First day of school when I was in secondary 1

I was so excited as today was the day that I was going to journey through a new secondary school life, I could not even sleep a wink. My goal for today was to make a good first impression on the teachers, I met up with my primary school buddy and walked together to school, it was a relief that we lived near our new school.
When I reach the school foyer, I was greeted by the school councilor and they instructed me to go to the hall, as I make my way towards the hall I was constantly greeted by the school councilors. I felt that the school councilor were every helpful and kind. When I reached the hall I was overwhelmed by its size. It was so much bigger then my primary school hall. It took me sometime to find my class, it was based on y result the channeled me to the express stream, I work really hard on my PSLE.
After about 10 minutes, a fierce looking, well built teacher went up stage. He demands our attention by shouting at us. He kept shouting at the sec 4. I don’t really like him. He introduced himself as Mr Koh and he is going to invite our principal Ms Chamb on stage to say something.
After Ms Chamb welcome speech had ended, Mr Koh went up stage and told us the school rules and some announcements. He then dismissed us from the hall, shouting at us as we are taking too long. When we reached back to our class, we seated where we wanted but our happiness was short-lived because when our form teacher came in and told us that he was going to choose where we are going to be seated.
He introduced himself as Mr Lok and he went on to talk about himself and his family background. He then talked about class rules and our attitude must be good. He then told us to stand up one by one to introduce ourselves. There were some of the girls too shy to stand to introduce themselves but after much persuasion then they introduced themselves. When it was Giulio’s turn to introduce himself there were some of us laughing as his name is quite funny. Mr Lok tried pronouncing his name and end up saying it as ‘Guilio’ instead of Giulio. He then asks whether to call him Capone or Giulio. Some of us were laughing as when Mr Lok said Capone it sort of sound like baboon, after that class start as normal.
‘Rrrrrring’ went the school bell, everyone in class rush to the canteen leaving the poor class chair person behind to lock the door. The canteen is located at the third floor, I think this is the only school that has a canteen at the third floor. There are 8 stalls to choose but I could not decide what to eat. Giulio was drooling as e smelled the aroma of the food. After I got what I wanted I went to sit with my new friends talking about what to do over the weekend.
After recess it was Mr Lok’s lesson, he change our seating locations. Many of us were grumbling I was one of them too. I end up seating beside a girl, her name is Rebecca. She had long black hair and an oval face. She had thick eyebrow, long eye lashes, big eyes and a small nose and lips. Her complexion was a little pale, she was also tall and slim. Although I do not know her well but I think we could be good friends.
The day ended with homework from our teachers. I am so happy to make new friends. This was what happened on my first day of school as I waited for more exciting days to come.
